LEED Design
BCER Engineering is a proud member of the USGBC LEED Program and actively supports the development of practical green and sustainable initiatives. Director of Energy and Sustainable Design Mr. Jerry Kiel, P.E., LEEDAP, C.E.M. has accumulated over 36 years of energy management and mechanical design experience. Our engineering expertise along with our LEED Accredited Professionals allow us the capability of presenting multiple ideas for different system configurations that will be as energy efficient as practical for the building concept and allow for the proper Life Cycle Cost Analysis so that the owner can make thoroughly informed decisions while conforming to the architectural design and use of sustainable materials. BCER Engineering has participated in many projects where green and sustainable design is a high priority including the Wellington E Webb Office Building (Gold Certification), CSU Lory Student Center (Gold Certification), the EPA's Region 8 Head Quarter's (Gold Certification), Boulder Community Hospital (Silver Certification), Boulder Valley School Districts renovation and addition to Manhattan Middle School, DPS's New Bluff Lake Middle School, Denver's District 1, 2 and 3 Police Stations, and the City and County of Denver's Minoru Yasui Office Building. In addition, BCER is presently involved in the design of three LEED Platinum projects.
